Former Ipswich Town loanee James Bree has signed for a Premier League club.
The 25-year-old right-back came to the Blues on loan from Aston Villa in January 2019 and made 14 appearances as Paul Lambert's men finished bottom of the Championship.
He subsequently moved to newly-promoted Championship club Luton Town and, after helping them to the play-offs last season, has now been reunited with his former boss Nathan Jones at Southampton.
"I'm absolutely delighted," said Bree. "It's a Premier League opportunity and obviously I get to work with my old gaffer, so I didn't have to think twice.
"It's something I've dreamed of since I was a little kid, making my Premier League debut, and obviously for a team as big as Southampton."
Southampton are currently bottom of the Premier League table with 15 points, level with Everton but with a worse goal difference.
