Former Ipswich Town defender Barry Cotter has signed for League One promotion rivals Barnsley.
The 24-year-old right-back joins the Tykes from Irish club Shamrock Rovers in a reported £20k deal, penning a three-and-a-half year contract.
Cotter made just four appearances for Ipswich between 2018 and 2021, impressing against Barnsley in his one Championship start.
He recently spent time on loan at St Patrick's Athletic, featuring in the Europa Conference League.
"It’s so exciting,” said Cotter. "It’s a great opportunity, I’m absolutely buzzing. I can’t wait to hit the ground running. It’s a huge club, there’s great history. I’m over the moon.”
Barnsley, relegated from the Championship last season, are currently sixth in the League One table.
Michael Duff's men are 11 points behind Ipswich with two games in hand.
Cotter will join another former Ipswich player, striker James Norwood, at Oakwell.
Ipswich are due to play Barnsley, in South Yorkshire, on Saturday, March 25.
