Ipswich Town transfer target Nathan Broadhead has been recalled from his loan spell at Wigan Athletic from parent club Everton.
Broadhead, 24, scored five goals in 11 starts and 11 sub appearances for the Latics and had been due to stay at the DW Stadium for the entirety of the campaign.
The EADT and Ipswich Star understands that he has become a prime transfer target for Blues boss Kieran McKenna this month and that a deal to sign him permanently is currently being worked on.
McKenna, speaking in a press conference this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup third round home clash with Rotherham, said the club was 'working very hard' to further strengthen the squad following yesterday's addition of free agent midfielder Massimo Luongo.
We can confirm that Nathan Broadhead has been recalled by Everton and returns to Goodison Park with immediate effect.

We'd like to thank Nathan for his efforts during his time with us, and wish him all the best moving forward. #wafc 🔵⚪️ #BELIEVE
Town are also understood to be working on a deal for Leicester City striker George Hirst, though his unsuccessful loan spell at Championship club Blackburn has yet to be officially cut short.
Broadhead, a former Wales U21 international, scored 11 goals for Sunderland last season to help the Black Cats win League One promotion via the play-offs.
Hirst bagged 15 goals for Portsmouth last season as Pompey finished 10th in League One. He's been restricted to just two league starts for Blackburn this campaign.
