Ipswich Town are set to announce the signing of midfielder Massimo Luongo on a deal until the end of the season.
The Australian, 30, has spent the last fortnight training with Town as his short-term deal with Middlesbrough ticked down.
The EADT and Ipswich Star understands that deal will end the Blues' interest in Peterborough United's Jack Taylor.
News of Luongo's deal was first broken by The Mirror this afternoon.
That report also stated that Town are 'close to a £1m deal ' for Everton forward Nathan Broadhead, as well as a season-long loan for Leicester forward George Hirst.
We reported last summer that Hirst was a prime target for Blues boss Kieran McKenna, but the 23-year-old ended up joining Blackburn Rovers on loan.

And have there are others in the pipeline for the League One promotion hopefuls.🚜https://t.co/fITITCfoTi
Hirst has made just two league starts for the Championship club during the first half of the season though and it's been reported in Lancashire that his temporary switch will be cut short with view to another move.
The Sunderland Echo yesterday reported that Ipswich have made a bid for Broadhead. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan in League One with the Black Cats and is currently on loan in the Championship with Wigan.
We understand that while both players are very much targets, deals are still far from being complete.
Meanwhile, The Mirror reports that Town are 'in talks' with Wolves attacker Theo Corbeanu.
The 20-year-old Canadian international spent last season on loan with Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons in League One and the first half of this season on loan at Championship club Blackpool.
We understand that Town's interest in the winger has not gone beyond a tentative enquiry.
