Championship side Sunderland are said to be considering a move for Peterborough striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, it has been reported.
Clarke-Harris is the third-tier's joint top scorer so far this term, having bagged 13 goals, level with Bristol Rovers' Aaron Collins.
He's been linked with a move away from Posh in the January window, with Ipswich Town among the sides said to be in the mix.
And, according to Sports Illustrated, Championship promotion chasers Sunderland are considering a Janaury move for the hitman, having sent scouts to watch him play on New Year's Day.
Clarke-Harris, 28, has been prolific at League One level with Posh, bagging 33 goals in 49 games as they got promoted in 2020/21.
He then scored 12 in 44 matches in the Championship last season, as Peterbrough were relegated.
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has previously told fans via social media that Clarke-Harris will not be heading to Ipswich this month.
- Meanwhile, a favourite has emerged in the race to become Portsmouth's new boss after they sacked Danny Cowley yesterday.
Ex-Wigan boss Leam Richardson, who spent time at Pompey as Paul Cook's assistant is the 1/1 betting favourite to take over at Fratton Park.
Former Town player and coach Liam Manning, who left MK Dons last month, is the 12-1 third favourite.
Others in the frame include Chris Wilder, Lee Bowyer and ex-Norwich boss Dean Smith.
