Ipswich Town's on-loan defender Corrie Ndaba has spoken of his delight after finally making his league debut for Burton Albion.
Ndaba, 22, is on a season-long loan at the League One Brewers, but has been out injured since the start of the campaign.
He played the final quarter of Burton's 6-1 win over Chippenham in the FA Cup last week, before starting and playing the full 90 minutes of their 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers MK Dons on Saturday.
He told iFollow Burton: "I'm absolutely delighted to be back. It's been a long road. I've been injured since the start of the season and I've been working hard behind the scenes to get back.
"I'm absolutely delighted to be back out there, helping the lads - I can't ask for much more."
Ndaba played on the left side of a back three on Saturday, and won the penalty from which Victor Adeboyejo gave them the lead.
Asked how he finds playing in a back three, he said: "I enjoy it.
"I can learn a lot from all our defenders, all the way through.
"I'm excited to keep going and get in as many games as I can and help the team."
Of the penalty, awarded after Josh McEachran had felled him in the box, Ndaba was asked if he usually gets that high up the pitch.
"No not usually, here and there maybe!" Ndaba laughed.
"I do what I can to help the team and fortunately we got the pen and put it in, so I'm happy."
The Brewers were pegged back late on by a Bradley Johnson goal, denying them a much-needed win and leaving them 23rd in the table.
Ndaba concluded: "There's plenty of positives to take. Obviously we went to the back three today.
"We worked really hard, we stuck to the shape of what we needed to do.
"Second half was tough and we're disappointed not to win the game - but there's a lot of positives to take going forward.
"Hopefully we can keep going now and get the points on the board."
Ndaba spent last season on loan at Salford City in League Two, where he played 31 games and was named supporters' player of the season.
