Ipswich Town have suffered an injury blow with the news Dominic Ball could be out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The midfielder appeared to be dealing with an issue during Monday night’s FA Cup victory over Bracknell Town and wasn’t involved in the game with Cheltenham Town this afternoon.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw, manager Kieran McKenna revealed the former QPR man is expected to be out for several months with a knee injury, which may require surgery on a damaged meniscus.

“Dominic is seeing a specialist. Unfortunately he has a very severe knee injury which, in all likelihood, rules him out for the rest of the season,” McKenna said.

“He picked it up really innocuously in the Charlton game and didn’t feel quite right in the Bracknell game, and is now going to need quite a complicated surgery on his meniscus.

"I'm extremely disappointed for him, first and foremost, because I think he was primed to be a really big player for us and kick on in his career.

"Knowing the character he is he'll bounce back from it."

Tyreece John-Jules has missed the last two games and is also set for an extended time on the sidelines, with a hamstring injury which may require surgery and also keep the Arsenal loanee out for ‘months not weeks’.

"It's a hamstring injury which is more severe than we first hoped," said McKenna. "We're seeking specialist opinion to see whether he needs a surgical repair."

Janoi Donacien limped out of this afternoon’s contest inside 15 minutes, with McKenna not overly concerned with the defender feeling a ‘tightness’ before he was replaced by Kane Vincent-Young.

"Hopefully it's nothing major, we just felt it was the right decision at this moment for him to put his hand up and come off before doing too much damage," said McKenna.
