Derby County v Bristol Rovers
This is a fascinating tie, with in-form Rovers heading to a Derby side who have been a bit flakey of late.
The Rams are 10th in the League One standings and have taken just one point from their last two games, drawing with Exeter City on Tuesday after losing to Ipswich last Friday.
Rovers' season has been transformed in the blink of an eye. After winning just twice in their opening 10 league games, the end of an injury crisis has allowed players to bed in and a youthful team is blossoming under Joey Barton. They are very much a danger side.
Their last two games have seen Barton's team come back to draw with leaders Plymouth, after being 2-0 down, and Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, after being a goal down.
I fancy Derby to take it, but Rovers will make it a battle.
Prediction: Derby 3 Rovers 1
'Awkward'.. admits Cotterill
Steve Cotterill returns to the club he admits he had some 'awkward moments' with during his tenure as boss back in 2010/11.
The Shrewsbury manager takes his 12th-placed side to Portsmouth today hoping to get back to winning ways after two defeats, to Charlton and Plymouth.
At Pompey as boss, Cotterill had to oversee a club in financial difficulty back then.
When asked about his memories of his time on the south coast, Cotterill said this week: "I had some really awkward moments to deal with. Administration, administration and administration.
"But it’s a great club, there are some great people who work there and I’m really looking forward to seeing them at the weekend. Lovely people."
Moore reads the mood music
Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore knows exactly what Owls fans expect of his side after boos rang out on Wednesday night after the team's 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers.
The result dented Wednesday's automatic promotion hopes, leaving them five points adrift of second-placed Ipswich.
"We have got to win every game here (at Hillsborough). We know it doesn't always work like that but I understand it (the boos)," he said.
"I understand the heartache of this place over the years. It has been years and years of heartache, long before I was here, in terms of where the club once was and what some of these fans have been used to."
Not wrong Darren, Ipswich Town fans know how Owls fans feel.
Wednesday entertain Burton today.
'Bad guy' Brown wants more for the fans
Fleetwood head coach Scott Brown says he knows he has to be the 'bad guy' on occasions. But he owes it to the fans.
The Cod Army haven't won in four and could only draw with lowly Forest Green on Tuesday night. It's tight at the bottom of League One and Brown knows it.
“The fans have been with the lads, they’ve got our backs through thick and thin, so it’s been good, but we want to give the fans more, especially at home," he said.
“The lads always want to learn and improve. There are always going to be people in and out of the team – I have to be the bad guy, but I take that on the chin."
It's a big Lancashire derby today as Fleetwood entertain Accrington Stanley.
Derby day delight in Cambridgeshire!
It’s been more than two decades since Peterborough United and Cambridge United last met in a Football League game.
So, it's expected to be quite an occasion at London Road this afternoon.
Posh are seeking a third straight League One win, while Cambridge ended a five-game losing streak by securing an impressive success at Wycombe on Tuesday.
However, Posh boss Grant McCann wants his players to focus on the three points.
"We will just concentrate on us,” McCann said. "It’s just the next game for us and we’ll play the match, not the occasion."
'We're not stupid', says Tykes boss
Barnsley boss Michael Duff has been left bemused by his side's recent run that has seen them fail to win in four and fail to score in four, as the Tykes drop down the League One table.
"It's a funny run, I don't think I've been on this type of run," Duff said. "All four goals that have gone in, not once have you looked at the goalkeeper.
"Quite often now when this happens you look at the goalkeeper, 'what's he doing there, he's only had one save to make and he's not made it'. He's been a sitting duck in all of them. That part of the pitch, we're alright, and we know that.
"But, we're not stupid either. We know that we need to get better at the other part of the pitch."
It appears a confusing picture all round at Oakwell, who entertain Forest Green Rovers today.
And finally....
Karl Robinson insists his touchline ban will not impact his players this afternoon.
The Oxford boss was shown a yellow card at Portsmouth on Tuesday, after also receiving a caution in the defeat at home to Peterborough United.
The U’s head coach will be in the stands for the trip to Bolton Wanderers today, rather than the dugout, as he serves a one-game touchline ban.
“I’ll be quite close at Bolton, I’ll only be four or five rows from the dugout, so that’s not too much of a bad situation, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it."
