Chelmsford II 1
Bury St Edmunds 4
THE Bury bandwagon continued to roll with a cracking win away at Chelmsford.
After several half-chances, Steve Jackson finally made the breakthrough for Bury after 17 minutes.A classic Dykes run and cross was met by Skelton on the baseline, and he drew the keeper before pulling the ball back to the penalty spot for Jackson to billow the roof of the netting with an unstoppable flick.
Bright added a second for Bury five minutes later with a deft deflection from a short corner.
Chelmsford came more into the game in the last 10 minutes of the half and created a couple of half-chances of their own, both of which were dealt with by keeper Portious.
After the break, Skelton added Bury's third with a fine individual effort, while Jackson made it four after 55 minutes from Bury's best move of the afternoon. Starting with Watt in the middle, several passes were exchanged before Ciappi's burst forward was picked out. He drove for the circle and drew the keeper out of his goal before squaring the ball to Jackson, who flicked into the empty goal.
The only blot on the Suffolk side's copybook was a late consolation by Chelmsford.
