A lorry ran out of diesel and partially blocked a busy roundabout on the A14 near the Port of Felixstowe.
The Norfolk & Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team (NSRAPT) said the HGV broke down on the eastbound carriageway at the Dock Spur roundabout.
Drivers queued as far back as Trimley St Martin, according to the AA traffic map.
NSRAPT later revealed the driver of the HGV had been issued with a Traffic Offence Report for unnecessary obstruction after running out of diesel.
