The East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) and partners GENERATE are set to host a high-profile presence for the region at RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind 2022 event, taking place on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd June 2022 in Manchester.
In addition to a number of industry exhibitors, EEEGR and GENERATE will be holding a reception on day one of the event, featuring several prominent industry speakers who will unveil project updates. The reception will also present the first national unveiling of the region’s newly named wind cluster, EastWind, which already has a buzz of excitement surrounding it following its regional launch at EEEGR’s SNS 2022 in May.
The reception takes place on Tuesday 21st June at 15:30 and welcomes all delegates of Global Offshore Wind to attend. Attendees can visit Stand 223 to hear from representatives including Vicky Mant of RenewableUK, Ross Ovens of ScottishPower Renewables, Susan Falch-Lovesay of Equinor, Caroline Olley of Vattenfall, Dr Mark Legerton of RWE, and more.
Simon Gray, EEEGR’s Executive Director of Policy and External Affairs, said: “Having a strong presence at Global Offshore Wind 2022 is really important for us. We want to keep the momentum going following the successful launch of EastWind at SNS 2022 last month. The cluster already has 124 members from across industry and growing, and we’re excited for the future potential.
“Alongside this, there is a multitude of exciting projects right on our doorstep, from ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia Hub and Vattenfall’s Norfolk Boreas and Vanguard through to Equinor’s extensions for Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon and RWE’s Five Estuaries and North falls projects," Simon added. "These projects are all in the pipeline and all off our coasts; the opportunity for the region’s supply chain is there, we just need to harness it."
Reception attendees will hear updates on these key projects in the region, and Director for Wales & Short Sea Ports at Associated British Ports and EastWind Chair Andrew Harston will join the agenda to present the region's newly named wind cluster, EastWind, for the first time nationally.
Attendees will also hear from Simon Gray, alongside EEEGR’s Chair, Martin Dronfield, and GENERATE’s Ian Pease.
Global Offshore Wind takes place on 21st and 22nd June 2022 at Manchester Central. The EEEGR and GENERATE Pavilion can be found at Stand 223.
