Warehousing and transport company GMA, which has bases in Ipswich and Felixstowe, has launched in-house campaign to promote risk-free working across its operations.
A new logo with the strap line “Pulling Together, Stay Safe” – chosen following a company-wide competition – is being rolled out across its trucks, trailers and staff uniforms, as well as its website and brochures,
The company is also re-training employees and updating its handbooks to reinforce the key messages of the initiative, with posters providing health and safety guidelines also produced for display at its depots.
Jay Kamat, business development director, said: “The Health and Safety Executive reports that more than half a million non-fatal injuries occur in the workplace each year.
“Our health and safety plans aim to get people working collaboratively to raise awareness of potential risks and to identify sensible measures to control them in our workplace now and in the future.”
GMA, a member of the Road Haulage Association, provides a comprehensive range of national logistical services including storage, curtain sided distribution, container transport and specialised heavy transport, plant, machinery and project cargo. It operates more than 30 GMA-owned vehicles plus a fleet of dedicated sub-contractors.
