Seven Resourcing, a global recruitment agency that has had continued growth as a supplier in seven major sectors, has been named winner of the SME of the Year award, sponsored by Larking Gowen, at the Suffolk Business Awards 2021.
Founded in 2011, Seven Resourcing employs over 100 people in offices in Ipswich, Colchester, Miami and the Gold Coast.
The recruitment agency has seen incredible growth across multiple sectors, becoming one of the UK’s leading suppliers of health and social care staff, as well as recruiting for some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and veterinary organisations.
The judging panel was extremely impressed by the company-wide use of technology and innovation at Seven Resourcing, referencing the sales button – used to reward and motivate staff for making a sale – in particular.
The judges also described the ongoing treatment of employees as first class, and felt that the organisation had fostered an innovative culture, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience whilst also providing excellent employee care.
Lily Smith, safeguarding and training manager at Seven Resourcing, said: “I can’t believe it – it feels amazing to win.
“It’s great to receive this recognition, we feel so proud and privileged to have achieved so much over the years.
“To get this award shows how far the company has come.”

The finalists
Cameron Ventures Group
The Cameron Ventures Group is a family-run hotel group based in East Anglia, with hotels in Suffolk and Norfolk. The judges said it was humbling to hear what the business did for the community during lockdowns; generating revenue in innovative ways and emerging strongly from the pandemic as a result.
Caribbean Blinds UK
A family-run business based in Sudbury that specialises in external shading systems, Caribbean Blinds has benefited greatly from the national boom in home improvements and greatly impressed the judges with the way in which it has navigated supply chain and distribution issues across the past 18 months, while remaining true to its roots.
Hemisphere Freight
Hemisphere Freight is a global logistics company based in Ipswich, with additional premises at Felixstowe, London, Heathrow and Skelmersdale.
The judges praised Hemisphere’s focus on improving the customer experience whilst navigating the challenges of Brexit and large price increases from suppliers, adding that this has paid off in terms of growth and customer loyalty.
