A 21-year-old man from Suffolk has been given a three-year community order after he was caught with over 160 indecent images of children.

Before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday was Joshua Kleiser of, Nuttery Vale, Eye who previously admitted to making indecent images of children including Category A, B and C, possession of prohibited images and possession of extreme porn.

Kleiser used the dark web, a hidden part of the internet, to access the images Judge David Wilson told the court.

However, the National Crime Agency informed Suffolk Police an email associated with the defendant had been used suspiciously and an officer attended Kleiser’s home address and seized all of his electronic devices.

On the devices a total of 163 indecent images were found including pictures of a baby and young teenage children.

There were also 17 extreme pornographic movies found on the devices.

Judge Wilson told the defendant: “This is far from just a click on the internet.

"Those who engage and view such images accelerate the abuse of children in different parts of the world because the demand is created by people like you."

The court heard Kleiser had cooperated with police and told them he had been looking at the images because he was depressed and had no friends and wanted an adrenalin rush to feel excitement in life.

Judge Wilson said that ordinarily Kleiser would be sent to prison but because of he “faces significant issues” in his life and has significant mental health difficulties and pleaded guilty he was given a community order instead.

As part of the order, Kleiser must undergo a 12-month mental health treatment plan and his location will be monitored by an electronic tag for six month and a sexual harm prevention order was also imposed for five years.
