A high school has been praised after it maintained its 'good' Ofsted rating following a visit by inspectors.
Hadleigh High School has taken "effective action to maintain the standards" which were identified in a review carried out in 2019.
Pupils at the school, which is part of the Penrose Learning Trust, were praised for their behaviour following a visit by the education watchdog on October 22 and October 23.
The report said: "At Hadleigh High School, pupils are polite and respectful. They demonstrate the school’s values of ‘aim high, work hard and be kind’ in their everyday lives."
It added that students behave well in lessons and "understand the school's high expectations of their achievement and conduct".
Inspectors said there is a broad curriculum in place at the school which is designed to build on what they have already learned.
However, it was noted that its strategies for delivering the curriculum are "not consistently implemented in some subjects".
The report continued: "This means that some pupils do not always retain knowledge in their long-term memory. The school should ensure that all staff implement the school’s carefully designed curriculum effectively."
Staff were praised for using "effective teaching approaches", adapting their teaching to ensure subjects are not misunderstood and also identifying pupils with SEND quickly.
Members of staff also feel valued at the school and their expertise is "developed and utilised".
School leaders and the trust were praised for the "ambitious vision" for the school.
"The trust, school leaders and governors have an ambitious vision for the school, based on shared values and an agreed pathway to success," the report continued.
"Shared principles of learning have provided the bedrock for the rich curriculum and the way it is taught."
The Highlands Road school is one of four secondary schools in the Penrose Learning Trust.
