Founder members of a new health club have been given an exclusive first look inside ahead of its opening next week.
The new Bury St Edmunds David Lloyd, on the Marham Park estate, will open from 6am on Tuesday, December 3 for all members.
On Friday, founder members and local VIPs, including mayor Diane Hind, visited for an exclusive look around the new facility.
Ms Hind cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening alongside 200 members who secured membership in the first releases.
Guests were also invited for a unique preview of the club to thank them for their support.
David Lloyd Bury St Edmunds’ general manager Kristen Westwood said: “The support has been fantastic and it’s great to see so many members of the local community embrace the new club and join us here today.
"It’s an honour to be general manager and I can’t wait to see our community grow when we officially open our doors on Tuesday 3rd December.
“I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who has spent so long working behind the scenes to deliver this fantastic new facility for the town.”
David Lloyd Bury St Edmunds has been under construction since the end of 2023.
It features a 100-plus station gym, heated indoor and outdoor pools with the David Lloyd Clubs’ Swim Stars programme for children, plus expert coaching for adults, aqua classes, and family swim time.
It also has match-quality tennis and padel courts as well as badminton, pickleball and the exclusive David Lloyd Clubs Tennis Stars junior programme for children.
Fitness classes, children's soft play and a spa retreat can also be found at the site.
Martin Leach, managing director of Vistry Major Projects, said: “We are very pleased to be welcoming David Lloyd to the heart of our Marham Park community.
"It’s a fantastic health and wellness facility for all the family, offering impressive facilities, as well as swimming and tennis lessons and after-school and holiday clubs.
"It’s a great addition to our development providing more opportunities for our residents and the wider community to stay active and healthy."
