The start date for works that will close a stretch of the A11 in west Suffolk has been announced.
Last month, National Highways said that work to replace the barriers and repair potholes and cracks in the road between Red Lodge and Fiveways roundabout at Barton Mills would take place at the start of next year.
Now it has been confirmed that the work, which is estimated to cost about £1.26million, will begin on Wednesday, January 8.
The closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am on weeknights and National Highways has said that one carriageway will be closed at a time.
The southbound closure will be shut first between Wednesday, January 8 and Tuesday, January 28.
National Highways will then close the northbound carriageway between Wednesday, January 29 and Monday, February 3.
A diversion route will be in place while the road is closed.
The diversion route is for when the southbound carriageway is closed.
- Exit the A11 at Fiveways Roundabout
- Take the A1101 Mildenhall Road heading east
- At the roundabout where the A1101 meets the B1106, turn onto Marham Parkway/Tut Hill (B1106) and head south
- At the A14 Westley Interchange, join the A14 and travel west.
The northbound carriageway diversion will be the reverse of the southbound.
