Drivers are set to face an hour-long diversion as a road is closed for more than a week.

Drainage improvement works will take place along The Street in Earl Soham between 8am and 5pm from Tuesday, December 3 until Wednesday, December 11.

The closure will stretch from the junction with Brandeston Road to the junctions with Mill Hill and Low Road.

During this time, the road will be closed to ensure the safety of highways users and Suffolk Highways operatives.

Outside of the times of the closure, temporary two-way lights will be installed.

For the duration of the closure traffic will be diverted via the A1120, A12, A1145, A146, A143, A140 and vice versa.

It is estimated the diversion will take around an hour to complete.

The diversion route is long as it has to follow A roads for larger vehicles that would not be able to use smaller, quicker roads along the route.
