The East of England showcased its pivotal role in the global energy sector at an event in Amsterdam this week.
The region had a dedicated stand at the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC) 2024, which took place on November 26 and 27.
Led by Insight Energy magazine, East Wind, East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), Generate and the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA), the stand attracted industry leaders, investors and supply chain businesses throughout the two-day event.
Live interactive displays highlighted the region’s leadership in all types of energy, reinforcing its position as one of the main energy gateways to the UK.
"The East of England's presence at OEEC 2024 was nothing short of outstanding," said Steve Maddams, energy brand specialist at LOCALiQ, publisher of Insight Energy.
"The collaboration between partners demonstrated the innovation and ambition that defines this region. It’s events like these that elevate the profile of our energy sector on an international stage and attract the investment necessary to drive continued growth."
He added: "The event marked another milestone for the East of England as it continues to lead the charge toward a sustainable energy future.
"By presenting a unified front at OEEC 2024, the region underscored its strategic importance and reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, collaboration and excellence in the energy sector."
Lexi Brackpool, project manager at East Wind, said: "We’re incredibly proud of how the East of England was represented at OEEC 2024. Our stand showcased not only the region’s cutting-edge technologies but also the strong partnerships and community that make this industry thrive."
OEEC 2024 focused on a number of key topics including the safety of energy infrastructure at sea, cyber security and ramping up the buildout of clean energy and clean fuel projects.
Next year's event will be held on November 25 and 26 at RAI Amsterdam.
