A number of events have been cancelled across Suffolk as the county prepares to be hit with 60mph winds from Storm Bert.

Bert is the second storm of the season with the Met Office warning of strong winds and disruptive weather over the weekend.

Coastal towns such as Lowestoft, Aldeburgh and Felixstowe could see gusts of up to 60mph while it could reach around 48mph inland.

Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Dan Holley said: “Storm Bert marks a shift to much milder air and wintry hazards will gradually diminish through the weekend."
