Storm Bert is expected to batter the county with gale force winds this weekend.
The storm, which is the second of the season, has been named by the Met Office - with the agency warning of strong winds and disruptive weather for Saturday and then into Sunday.
Parts of the county could see gusts of up to 60mph, particularly towns and villages along the coast including Lowestoft, Southwold, Aldeburgh and Felixstowe.
Inland areas could see wind speeds of up to 48mph as the storm passes through the county, the Met Office has forecast.
The strong winds are likely to uproot trees and cause "considerable structural damage" to buildings, it is predicted.
After an unstable week of high pressure brought sub-zero temperatures and flourishes of snow, the storm will mark a distinct change - with temperature rising back up to double digits.
Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Dan Holley said: “Storm Bert marks a shift to much milder air and wintry hazards will gradually diminish through the weekend."
