A 74-year-old woman killed in a sports car crash in a seaside town has been named as a teenager has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the crash involving a Nissan GTR and a pedestrian in Church Road in Felixstowe at about 2.30pm on Tuesday.
The pedestrian was taken to Ipswich Hospital by land ambulance for treatment but later died from her injuries.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the woman has been identified as Mary Kinsey, who was from Felixstowe.
Lewis Meadows, 18, of Cliff Road, Felixstowe, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop after a collision, using a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to report a collision.
Meadows was due to appear before Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich on Thursday.
Speaking on Wednesday, the crash was described as "isolated incident" by Felixstowe town councillor Nick Barber, who represents the East Ward which covers Church Road.
He expressed his condolences to the family of Ms Kinsey.
Mr Barber said: "As a councillor of Felixstowe for 15 years now and a resident of Felixstowe all my life, I can count on one hand the number of incidents like this.
"I feel very sad for the family involved and it is an isolated incident.
"These things just don't seem to happen in Felixstowe and unfortunately it has happened now and I hope that it will be the only one that I will remember in my lifetime."
Ms Kinsey appeared to have been walking down the pavement in the direction of High Road East when she was struck from behind by the GTR which then crashed through a picket fence and into the front garden of a property.
Anyone with any information related to the crash is being asked to contact Suffolk police, quoting crime reference number 37/65944/24.
