An 18-year-old has been arrested after a woman in her 70s died in a crash with a sports car in Felixstowe.
Suffolk Police, East of England Ambulance Service, East Anglian Air Ambulance and a paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) attended the incident in Church Road in Felixstowe at 2.30pm on Tuesday.
The woman, in her 70s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital by land ambulance for treatment, but later died.
The driver of the Nissan GTR also involved in the incident was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance and failing to stop after a collision.
The 18-year-old driver was initially taken to Ipswich Hospital by officers for treatment and then to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he currently remains.
The road was closed while emergency services attended and an investigation took place.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
