Vertas Group, a leading facilities management company that’s headquartered in Ipswich, is proud to announce that is has raised more than £28,000 this year for Cancer Research UK, its chosen charity since 2017, bringing the grand total up to £77,279.31.

A large portion of the money was raised through its innovative social value initiative, Exec Experiences, which has raised more than £23,000 (including gift aid).

This initiative brought together Vertas Group’s board of directors and 44 colleagues in five challenging events, all in support of life-saving cancer research.

Each challenge was designed to test their endurance, teamwork and commitment to making a difference. The challenges included a Ryder Cup-style golf tournament at Royal Norwich Country & Golf Club, the Ipswich Half Marathon, a cycling challenge through the Derbyshire hills, a climb up Mount Snowdon and climbing a Scottish Graham, Ben Venue.

Through the generosity of colleagues and supporters, Vertas Group was able to surpass its fundraising goals.

Speaking about the initiative, Ian Surtees, MBA FIoD, chief executive officer of Vertas Group, said: "Our Exec Experiences initiative was designed to bring our leadership and colleagues closer together while contributing to a cause that touches the lives of so many.

“These events have proved a great way of engaging colleagues at geographically diverse locations. Together, we've not only pushed our physical limits but also demonstrated the power of teamwork and compassion. I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved for Cancer Research UK."
