A Newmarket man will have to pay more than £300 and carry out up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity after a string of offences.
Terry Audus, 39, of Valley Way, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich.
He was charged with assault by beating of an emergency working, namely PC Sam Day, on August 31 in Bury St Edmunds.
Audus was also charged with possession of a controlled drug of class A, namely cocaine, on the same date in Newmarket, and possession of a controlled drug of class B, namely cannabis, also on August 31 in Newmarket.
He was further charged with using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress on the same day in Bury St Edmunds.
He indicated a guilty plea to all charges, and there was no separate penalty for the threatening/abusive words/behaviour charge.
Audus was ordered to undertake rehabilitation activities for a maximum of 20 days.
He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £100 fine and a £114 surcharge in relation to the assault.
For the cocaine and cannabis possession, the property was forfeited and destroyed.
