A Bury St Edmunds motorist has been disqualified for nearly four years after driving while over three times the legal limit.
Michal Kolataj, 38, of Abbot Road, was sentenced after admitting the offence at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court.
Kolataj drove his Toyota Yaris on Glastonbury Road after drinking but was caught by police on September 28 this year.
A breathalyser test revealed the defendant was driving with over three times the alcohol limit in his system, with 108 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath while the limit is 35 micrograms.
He was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
Kotataj was ordered to abstain from consuming any alcohol until March next year and will have to comply with electronic tag monitoring.
The defendant must also comply with 10 days of rehabilitation activities and was disqualified for a period of 45 months and was ordered to pay court costs of £139.
