A Bury St Edmunds man has been ordered to pay fines, costs and compensation amounting to more than £900 after admitting assaulting a police officer.
James Robinson, who is of Beaumont Close in the west Suffolk town, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich on October 4.
The 37-year-old was charged with the assault by beating of an emergency worker, namely a police officer.
The incident took place on August 18 this year in Bury St Edmunds, a court listing said.
In court on October 4, Robinson was represented by defence counsel Dino Barricella, with Sarah Dawes for prosecution.
Robinson indicated a guilty plea, which was taken into account as he sentenced by magistrates at the court.
He was ordered to pay £200 in compensation and a £460 fine, as well as costs of £85 and a surcharge of £184 after admitting the offence.
The total for the compensation, fine and costs came to £929.
