A man has been sentenced after a pair of wine thefts from a town's Marks & Spencer.
Neale Massie, 42, of no fixed abode in the Bury St Edmunds area, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on October 18 charged with two counts of theft from a shop.
One of the charges related to the theft of a £12 bottle of Chardonnay white wine from Bury St Edmunds Marks & Spencer on Thursday, August 29.
The second charge related to the theft of an £11 bottle of Prosecco, also from the Bury St Edmunds Marks & Spencer store, on Sunday, August 4.
In court Massie was represented by Dino Barricella while Paul Brown was prosecutor counsel.
Massie pleaded guilty to both counts of theft and was sentenced on October 18.
He was granted conditional discharge for a period of six months.
He was also ordered to pay compensation of £12 and £11 for the thefts.
No order was made for costs and the court said Massie's guilty plea had been taken into consideration during sentencing.
