Two rare classic cars stashed away in a Suffolk barn for nearly four decades have sold for an astonishing price as they went under the hammer.
A 1921 Talbot-Darracq Tourer and 1954 Mercedes Benz 220 Type A were sat gathering dust in a Framlingham barn since the 1980s, once the pride and joy of their late owner.
The left hand drive Mercedes was originally bought by him whilst he was serving in the British Army in Germany, with the car travelling with him during his military career.
It also spent time in Cyprus and the Middle East, before making its way home to Suffolk.
Desirable 50p coin listed for £2,000 in Suffolk

But now the pair have sold at Reeman Dansie Auctioneers and Valuers in Colchester - fetching almost £50,000.
The motors were sold to separate bidders with the Mercedes going for £37,000 and the Talbot being sold for £10,500.
A spokesman for the auctioneers said: "We understand from the late owners family that the cars were last running in the 1980’s and have remained preserved in his barn for the last four decades."
Prior to the auction, Elton Murphy who runs the Youtube channel UK Barn Finds spoke about the Talbot-Darracq.
He said: "There can't be many in the world with a roof in this condition."
