A European manufacturer's new multi-million pound UK headquarters has been built in Suffolk.

Finnish loader maker Avant Tecno UK will be moving into a 32,200sq ft building at Suffolk Business Park at Bury St Edmunds - a 57-acre site near junction 45 of the A14.

It is moving from its rural base at Manor Farm, Bridgham, Thetford, where it has been based since 1999.

The work has been carried by Ipswich firm SEH French and led by developer Churchmanor Estates.

It includes dealer training facilities, flexible collaborative workspaces, efficient and automated warehouse technology, and a technical workshop.

Representatives from Avant Tecno and Churchmanor Estates will gather with the SEH French team at Suffolk Business Park on the November 22 to mark the handover of the building.

Avant Tecno UK managing director Raimo Ala-Korpi said: “Needless to say this is a huge milestone for our company – and especially our AVANT team in the UK.

"A few years ago, our team made concrete plans to support our growth in the British Isles, and one of the key goals was to improve our facilities to enable us to improve our services to our end-users and dealers in the UK.

“I am pleased to say today that the new era in Bury St Edmunds begins now."

The firm has seen rapid growth and saw the need for a new purpose-built headquarters.

The building is highly sustainable and expected to receive a BREEAM rating of “Excellent”.

SEH French contracts manager Neil Pryke said: “We’re honoured to have played a role in creating AVANT Tecno UK’s new headquarters.

“Handing over the keys to this remarkable facility is a proud moment for us all - it’s been a true team accomplishment.”

Churchmanor Estates development director Matt Cloke said: “It’s been a pleasure and privilege to work in partnership with AVANT Tecno UK from the very outset of this project.

“This has resulted in a fit for purpose, sustainable, and attractive building, from which Avant can embark on the next stage of their business journey within the UK with confidence.

“It’s a testament to the collaborative working approach by all involved from start to finish.”
