A mum who bought a golf course to create a special needs centre for her daughter is opening a tearoom.

Vanessa Woodward bought Old Joe's in Sudbury seven years ago with the aim of creating a centre for her daughter Jodie, who has Downs Syndrome.

The centre is now managed by Achieving Aspirations and provides daytime and overnight respite care for adults with special needs.

Ms Woodward said: "Jodie is loving, kind and caring.

"For me, building this centre is about security when I die, I know she'll be looked after."
