A popular Christmas day swim is returning for a 20th year - and organisers are hoping to sign people up to brave the cold water.

The Felixstowe Christmas Day Dip sees hundreds of dippers wearing festive outfits plunge into the North Sea to raise vital funds through sponsorship.

This festive season will be the 20th year that it has been held, and St Elizabeth Hospice is once again asking the community to complete a fundraising dip.

James Fox-Golding, events and challenges manager at the hospice, said: “We are so pleased to announce the return of Christmas Day Dip for 2024.

“This year marks a landmark 20th edition of the dip, which has become a real Christmas Day staple for so many, as the local community joins together to show their support for the hospice.

“Every penny raised will make a difference to our staff, as they care for patients and their families throughout east and mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney during very difficult times in their lives.”

St Elizabeth Hospice delivers free care to an average of more than 4,000 patients and their families throughout East and Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.

The Felixstowe Christmas Day Dip tickets are now available for people wanting to take the plunge this Christmas Day.

Tickets are available to purchase now until December 22 for £15 but on the day registration is available.
