Two children were detained in a west Suffolk town centre after fireworks were reportedly thrown at members of the public, police have said.
Police received the reports of the fireworks being let off in Haverhill on Friday afternoon.
Officers then quickly attended the scene and the two children were detained with a stop and search under Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Fireworks and lighters were then recovered and seized by police, despite attempts by the children to hide them.

The parents were notified of the incident and the two children were interviewed under caution with the appropriate adults present.
Police say a decision is yet to be made on the incident, but they said local CCTV in the area and West Suffolk Council have played a crucial role in the investigation.
They have also warned the public against the dangers of fireworks and say this incident could have resulted in serious injuries.
