A hair salon celebrated its first anniversary in Woodbridge town centre following a highly successful first year.

Co-owners Chloe Beales and Stacey Roberts established CS Advanced Hair in the Throughfare having previously worked at Baiss and Co hair salon in St Peter's Street, Ipswich.

Their new salon offers services including cutting styling, colouring, and lightening as well as specialised treatments such as keratin straightening and hair extensions.

Together the pair have more than 20 years’ experience in the industry and have been delighted with the number of clients they've had.

Ms Roberts said that one of the reasons for the move was the lack of passing trade and the cost of parking in Ipswich town centre.

The CS Advanced Hair team. The CS Advanced Hair team (Stacey Roberts) She said: "We just saw less and less potential in Ipswich. It was more the town centre and the price of parking. If you're coming in for a three or four-hour appointment you're adding eight quid.

"Also, where we were situated in St Peter's Street, we never really got a lot of passing trade. Unless you're going down to the docks, or you knew it was a hairdresser it didn't look like a hairdresser.

"There are so many hairdressers in Ipswich and the buildings we were looking at weren't suitable for our vision.

"It was a big decision to go there (Woodbridge) to see if our clients would follow but the majority of them did."

Ms Roberts added that the number of new clients they had attracted since the move last year was overwhelming.

She said: "We've actually been quite shocked about the number of new customers we've attracted. We get people from all sorts of places to see us it's a bit bizarre really.

"You get people come into Woodbridge just to have a coffee.

"Woodbridge, you stroll through and it's pleasant. People who are on holiday will walk past and come in for a haircut."
