A woman has opened up her own business in a former award-winning deli in an east Suffolk village.
Louisa Flavell has opened The Suffolk Deli in what was previously the Grundisburgh Dog Delicatessen, which was set up in 2020 during lockdown and grew into a business that was receiving national recognition regularly.
The Grundisburgh Dog Delicatessen has moved to Woodbridge.
Ms Flavell started a completely new business called The Suffolk Deli which opened on October 1.
As The Suffolk Deli has only been open for five weeks, Ms Flavell is trying to work out what local people want by doing tasting evenings and making hampers for everyone that include locally-sourced deli products and are made with love.
The new owner said: "This is my adventure about independence after my recent divorce to just go for it even though I'm scared because I can do it alone.
"When the chips are down you really can come back."
She plans to only source and support local producers and everything available in the deli is homemade.
The Suffolk Deli will also be affordable for everyone so that anyone can visit, Ms Flavell said.
Ms Flavell has a lot of plans for her new deli this includes making recipes cards, possibly making the upstairs into a café and her dream is to one day maybe expanding the business to be scattered around the county.
She added: "It's very important to give love, receive love and happiness and this is what I'm trying to get across in this business.
"And even though it's been quite a journey, I'm really proud of it."
