Drivers will face a diversion of more than 30 miles while road repairs are carried out in a town.
Stone Street, in Hadleigh, will be closed from the junction with the A1071 to the junction with the B1115 in Semer.
The closure will be in place between 7pm and 5am from Monday, November 11 until Friday, November 15.
Suffolk County Council is closing the road for carriageway patching in preparation for surface dressing, the local authority has confirmed.
Throughout the closure, drivers will be diverted for an hour via the A1141, A134, A1071 and vice versa.
To make this diversion possible, a temporary suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight limit on A1141 Water Street and A1141 Brent Eleigh Road, in Lavenham, will be in place.
Lengthy diversion routes are often put in place due to HGVs using the roads, as they are not always able to use more rural routes.
