Proposals to build a new padel court in a village near Ipswich have been approved by the district council.
Based on the sports ground, applicant Copdock and Washbrook Tennis Club had submitted plans to Babergh District Council to convert one of its tennis courts in September.
The developer wished to provide a venue for the growing sport, by reusing one for its tennis court for padel, while the other will be used to play tennis.
The plans have now been approved by the district council, with certain conditions.
Padel is one of the fastest-growing racket sports in recent years, being a variation of tennis and squash.
However, there are only three courts in Ipswich where the sport can be played.
The approved plans state that the club will keep the court open Monday to Friday from 8am to 10pm, while the weekend closing time will be 6pm.
The environment protection officer at Babergh has asked the developers to ensure that the lighting and the noise from the court is minimal and do not disrupt the neighbours.
