A springer spaniel dog who has been missing from a village for around six weeks has been found dead.
Staff at Uggeshall Kennels in London Road, Brampton, near Southwold, noticed that their four-year-old springer spaniel, Puffin, had gone missing at about 2pm on Sunday, September 22.
After a six week search to find Puffin owner Anne-Marie Millard said he was found dead on Tuesday.
In a post on Facebook, Mrs Millard said: "I can’t find the words to describe how we as a family are feeling.
"The last weeks we have been overwhelmed by how wonderful the people of not just my Spaniel world but the general public of Suffolk.
"Their kindness and help have been immense and I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Unlike some of the other spaniels at Uggeshall Kennels, Puffin was a family dog that has been with the owner Mrs Millard and her daughter Tabitha, since she was eight weeks old.
