More overnight closures have been announced for a five-mile stretch of the A14 near Ipswich.
Earlier this year National Highways said that closures would be in place along the A14 from J52, near Claydon, to J55, near Copdock, from Tuesday, August 27 until mid October.
However, due to poor weather conditions the closures have been pushed back.
National Highways has since confirmed that work has now begun on the westbound carriageway and closures are planned to be in place until Friday, November 29.
Following that the eastbound carriageway will then be closed from Monday, December 2 until Friday, December 13.
The closures will be in place from 8pm to 6am.
Diversion routes will be in place while the carriageways are closed.
The westbound diversion route will be as follows:
- Exit at junction 55 (Copdock Interchange)
- Travel along the A1214 and A1071
- Continue along the B1113 through Sproughton and Bramford
- Rejoin the A14 at Claydon
For the eastbound diversion, travel the same as above but in reverse.
A spokesman for National Highways said: "Following feedback from residents, when full closures are required on the A14 eastbound carriageway, we will implement a road closure at Paper Mill Lane to prevent unsuitable vehicles using this as a cut through.
"Access to the Premier Inn will still be available."
