Antique silver and a handbag have been taken from a village home.

The burglary took place sometime between 3am and 4am on Monday morning at a property on Metfield Road in Fressingfield.

A Suffolk police spokesman said an unknown person, or persons, broke into the home through the dining room window, stealing antique silver items and a handbag.

The burglary follows a spate of rural crime in Suffolk over the last few weeks, seeing high value items being stolen from homes and businesses.
