Two men who robbed a Suffolk post office armed with hammers have been jailed for more than 14 years.
Sonny Loveridge and Jimbilly Loveridge enter the store in Wickhambrook at closing time on February 25 2023.
The men were armed with hammers and manhandled staff before they smashed the till, grabbed money and fled the scene in a van.
Sonny Loveridge who lives in Wilburton, Cambridgeshire admitted the Suffolk robbery in February 2023.
The 26 year old also had further charges of attempted robbery in Manea, Cambridgeshire and causing death by dangerous driving while unfit through drink.
His accomplice, John Hayden, 36, entered the shop and demanded money but they fled empty handed when the staff locked themselves behind the tills.
Loveridge then drove Hayden away but crashes the car near Chatteris, with Hayden pronounced dead at the scene.
The 26-year-old suffered minor injuries and was found to be over the drink drive limit.
He was jailed for a total of eight years and 11 months and banned from driving for 15 years and 10 months.
Jimbilly Loveridge, 33, who lives in Maldon, Essex was jailed for six years for his part in the Wickhambrook robbery.
Both men were later arrested and charged and appeared at Peterborough Crown Court for sentencing on November 1.
PC Connor Shaw, in charge of the Wickhambrook case said: "This was a very traumatic incident for the victims but they showed great resilience and their actions were instrumental in the identification of the suspects that, ultimately, led to their conviction."
