A person has died after being hit by a train on the main line between Ipswich and London.
Greater Anglia confirmed on Monday morning that services between Ipswich and the capital were disrupted after an incident on the tracks near Shenfield.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Romford station shortly before 8.30am, Monday 4 November, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
