A wildlife park has announced the arrival of a second brown bear to join the park's existing male.

Diego arrived at Jimmy's Farm and Wildlife Park in Wherstead in spring after being saved from being put to sleep in Sweden.

The Suffolk farm, which is run by Jimmy Doherty, rescued the bear so he could live the rest of his life after his previous home was forced to close.

Now nearly a year after the money to save Diego was raised, Jimmy's Farm has announced the arrival of a new brown bear.

Brumhilda, a female bear, arrived at Bear Again Rehabilitation Centre for Orphan Bears from Belarus with the aim of rehabilitation to return to her homeland.

Brumhilda was relocated to Jimmy's Farm where she will share the habitat with Diego as the Bear Again Rehabilitation Centre is not equipped for adult bears.

A video on the wildlife park's social media shows Brumhilda taking her first steps in exploring the brown bear enclosure ahead of meeting Diego.

A spokesman for Jimmy's Farm said: "We are overjoyed to give her a forever home with Diego.

"Since she cannot return to the wild, we are honoured to offer her the safe, enriching space she deserves."

Brumhilda is not the first bear to arrive at the park since Diego's rescue.

Jimmy's Farm first rescued Ewa the polar bear from Sweden who was later joined by Flocke and her daughters Tala and Hope.
