A high-end luxury designer shop has officially opened its doors in Ipswich town centre, making use of a building which had been empty for a number of years.
Flannels has opened in the former BHS in Butter Market, just months after work started to renovate the building.
The high-end retailer is part of Frasers Group, which took over the BHS building in 2020, and is the first of five shops to open in the space.
A spokesperson for Frasers Group commented: "We are pleased to be opening a new 8,000 sq. ft FLANNELS store in Ipswich’s Buttermarket.
"This dynamic store will offer Ipswich customers the best of luxury and contemporary fashion, footwear, and accessories."
Flannels has taken up the majority of the ground floor of the building, with work still ongoing on the Sports Direct, GAME, Evans Cycles and USC next door.
Work on the site began at the end of July after it was revealed in June that Frasers Group would open five of their stores in the building.
BHS closed in 2016, and has been left vacant ever since.
Signage was approved to go up in September around the outside of the buildings, as well as the installation of roller shutters.
In May, Flannels was voted as one of the Ipswich Star readers' most desired shops to open in Ipswich.
The Sports Direct next door is still expected to open before the end of the year, with GAME and the sports shop taking up temporary residence in the former H&M in Tavern Street ahead of the move.
Flannels officially opened on October 31.
