The Sandringham Christmas Craft, Food & Gift Fair returns this November. Mark Hulme from Living Heritage, the organiser of the event, tells us what to expect at this year’s event.
We have a fabulous show in store for visitors this year at the Sandringham Christmas Craft, Food & Gift Fair, which takes place from November 15-17, 10am-5pm on the Sandringham Estate.
All the old favourites will be there, as well as new attractions and features. One of the main attractions at this year’s event is the return of live ice carving. It’s been five years since we last had ice carving at the show, when popular carvings included Santa’s sleigh and the post box for delivery of letters to Santa’s workshop. We’re sure it’s going to be a big hit again this year.
Set in the centre of the event is the new Christmas Village, where log cabins will house selected craft stalls, food producers, vendors and attractions.
Christmas is synonymous with food and drink, and the fair has plenty of both! The central food court within the Christmas village area will have numerous “meet and greet” street entertainers, music and great street food to create a lively Yuletide atmosphere.
Food Glorious Food and the Food Halls provide a fabulous array of food and drink from both regional and national producers that are bound to make your taste buds tingle, then pick up some menu ideas from the chefs on stage to complete your enjoyment.
The Craft Village is the perfect place to pick up gifts, with more than 100 craftspeople, artists and designers displaying, demonstrating and selling a multitude of hand-crafted items.
Lots more gifts and ideas abound in the various gift marquees and arcades that interlink the main show areas. Many of the exhibitors also attend our country fairs, so if you missed them earlier in the year, you have a second chance to catch your favourite stands.
They say Christmas is for children, and there is plenty of entertainment to keep little ones amused, including Santa’s Magic Show, various puppet shows, jesters, mischievous elves and much more. Travel on the Christmas Land Train or decorate a biscuit in the children’s activity tent.
Enjoy the lively atmosphere around the event with a wide range of live music including jazz, blues, Christmas songs by the Swingtime Sweethearts, brass bands, one-man bands and, of course, our Singing Santa.
So eat, drink and be merry at the Sandringham Christmas Craft, Food & Gift Fair.
Tickets cost £14 for adults, £13 for over 65s and £5 for children aged 5-15, under 5s are free.
Tickets can be bought at livingheritagecountryshows.com or on arrival at the event.
