A shipment of more than 400 unsafe Halloween themed inflatables destined for Amazon have been destroyed after been seized by Suffolk Trading Standards.
The import teams stopped the batch of 464 outdoor items which had been imported from China after it arrived at the Port of Felixstowe.
The shipment included 11 types of electronic outdoor inflatables including trees, pumpkins, Frankenstein's monsters, witch arches, spiders, ghosts, cats, dragons and grim reapers.
The items were due to be sold on Amazon.
Suffolk Trading Standards said the items were detained because the instructions were considered to be "inadequate".
This is because they did not contain sufficient safety information and the correct warnings needed to ensure the correct and safe use of the equipment.
The inflatables were not marked with the name, trade mark or identification mark of the manufacturer or responsible vendor.
In addition, no model number was displayed and it lacked rated voltage markings.
A Suffolk Trading Standards spokesman said the lack of markings and safety warnings could have resulted in someone being hurt.
The items been removed from Amazon and the goods destroyed.
If you have purchased a product that you think may be unsafe, stop using it immediately and report it to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133.
