Woodbridge Rotary Club has announced a record-breaking amount of money raised from the recent Ruff Stuff off-road cycle event.
The event, held in Butley/Rendlesham Forest, saw 230 cyclists take part, raising just under £3,000.
The proceeds will be split between Bike Active, East Anglia’s Air Ambulance, Plomesgate Cycles, and Woodbridge Rotary's general charity fund.
The event, which has grown in popularity since its modest beginnings eight years ago, attracted participants from as far away as Basildon, Stanford le Hope, Cambridge, and Norwich.

Peter Whelan from Plomesgate Cycle Club, who has been involved since the first event, played a key role in ensuring the course was well-marked and cleaned up after the event.
The Rotary Club had previously organised the successful Opera for Woodbridge event, which raised almost £2,000 for next year’s opera and other charities.
The club is now turning its attention to Christmas preparations, with a series of events planned for December.
These include erecting the tree on Market Hill and holding the Christmas Fair in the Thoroughfare.
New members are always welcome to join the club.
