An arts and craft store in a market town has donated more than 100 knitted "warm packs" for veterans in the area.

Employees at Parlour Made Craft Shop in Beccles and their customers came together to make 114 homemade knitted packs to donate to army, RAF, and Royal Navy veterans ahead of the winter months.

Each pack included a blanket, scarf, and hat.

The shop in Blyburgate sells wool, fabrics and haberdashery items, and also runs daily workshops for a variety of crafts and skills.

"We all crocheted and knitted throughout the year."

This is the fourth year the business has come together with customers to make items for charity, with previous years seeing donations to two local homeless charities and a women's shelter.

Ms Jermany added: "We like to give back to the community so each year we do something for charity that we can all get involved in.

"Our customers really get involved and are more than happy to make items for good causes.

"Most of them use wool they have at home already and sometimes we donate that too."

Parlour Made is also a drop-off point for The People's Picnic charity, an organisation that provides meals and essentials to homeless and vulnerable people in Norwich.

The charity is looking for people to "fill a sock" with items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, chocolate or sweets, gloves, and more socks.

On the poster it says: "Please do not include money or any items that contain alcohol such as hand gel".

Ms Jermany said: "I am so pleased to be part of this wonderful charity again this year being the Beccles collection point.

"It is such a lovely thing to do and it brings such happiness to those receiving these gifts at Christmas."

The final day for sock donations is December 20.
