Replacement works on a town's bridge continue as the old crossing has been "deconstructed".
The White Bridge site in Halesworth Millennium Green, also known as Blyth Bridge, has been undergoing works to replace the structure after it was deemed unsafe two years ago.
Suffolk Highways said in a post: "We’re happy to share that the deconstruction of the old bridge is complete and our team has begun installing the pilings for the new foundations.
"Once the pilings are in place, we’ll move forward with setting up the base pads on both sides to ensure the new structure is stable and to retain the banks.

"A works bridge has been installed to provide our teams with access to the other side. Please note that this bridge is not for public use," Suffolk Highways added.

The first stage of the project involved water vole relocation, but was delayed due to major flooding and workmen encountering Himalayan Balsam - a highly invasive species of weed -while undertaking preparatory works.
The bridge has been closed since August 2022 due to safety concerns, and had led to a protest from people in the area due to fencing put around it.
