Police are appealing for information after vehicles parked overnight in a west Suffolk town were damaged. 

Officers believed the incidents in Haverhill happened at around 4am on Saturday, October 26, but may have taken place any time between 8pm on Friday, October 25, and 8am on the Saturday.

Windows were smashed on three vehicles parked in Greenfields Way and one vehicle in Buckingham Road by an unknown person or persons. 

House to house and CCTV enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said: "The victims of these offences could have done nothing to prevent this happening but residents should ensure bags, USB cables and phone cradles are taken out of vehicles even if no valuables are left within.

"Offenders are known to smash windows to search cars purely on the off chance if they see items such as these."

Residents who live in the area of the incidents should review CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage for anything which may help the investigation.
